Acceptable Use Policy

These draft rules define acceptable hosting, email, resource, and security use. They should be reviewed before public launch.

Prohibited Content

  • Illegal content, stolen data, malware, phishing pages, credential harvesting, botnets, or content that promotes unauthorized access are not permitted.
  • Content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, or other third-party rights may be removed or suspended when properly reported.
  • Adult content, gambling, regulated products, or high-risk content may require prior written approval and may be refused at Virtual Hosting Services' discretion.

Prohibited Activity

  • Spam, unsolicited bulk email, mail bombing, open relay operation, spoofing, and list abuse are prohibited.
  • Port scanning, vulnerability scanning of third-party systems, brute force activity, denial-of-service activity, proxy abuse, and command-and-control activity are prohibited.
  • Customers may not use the service to host or distribute malware, exploit kits, pirated software, or tools primarily intended for abuse.

Resource Use

  • Services must be used in a way that does not harm server stability, network reputation, or other customers.
  • Excessive CPU, memory, disk I/O, database load, email volume, or network traffic may require mitigation, upgrade, throttling, suspension, or migration to a more suitable service.
  • Shared hosting is not intended for background daemons, public file mirrors, cryptocurrency mining, high-volume scraping, or workload patterns better suited to dedicated infrastructure.

Email Rules

  • Customers must use opt-in mailing practices and honor unsubscribe requests.
  • Purchased lists, harvested addresses, and deceptive mail headers are not allowed.
  • Accounts that damage mail reputation or trigger spam complaints may be rate-limited, suspended, or required to use a dedicated email platform.

Security

  • Customers must keep websites, plugins, themes, scripts, and credentials reasonably secure.
  • Virtual Hosting Services may patch, disable, quarantine, or remove compromised files when needed to protect the service or other customers.
  • Customers must report suspected compromise or abuse promptly and cooperate with cleanup or mitigation requests.

Enforcement

  • Virtual Hosting Services may investigate suspected abuse and may suspend or restrict service without advance notice when urgent action is required.
  • Whenever practical, customers will be contacted and given a chance to resolve non-urgent violations.
  • Repeated, severe, or intentional violations may result in termination without refund.
