Policy draft

Terms of Service

These draft terms describe the basic rules for hosting, managed support, billing, and customer responsibilities. They should be reviewed before public launch.

Service Scope

  • Virtual Hosting Services provides shared hosting, managed VPS service, website support, and related services as described on the public site or in a written agreement.
  • Minor website updates included with hosting are provided on a reasonable-use basis and generally cover small changes that can be completed in about 30 minutes or less.
  • Large redesigns, custom development, emergency cleanup, complex migrations, and non-routine work may require a separate quote or written approval.

Billing

  • Customers are billed for the package and add-ons selected at checkout.
  • Recurring hosting, VPS, and add-on services renew automatically through Stripe unless cancelled according to these terms.
  • There is no overage billing policy at launch. Future products, manual services, domain registrations, or non-subscription charges require a future order or separate approval before billing.
  • Domain registrations are processed manually and are subject to availability, registrar rules, and final price confirmation.

Customer Responsibilities

  • Customers are responsible for providing accurate contact, billing, domain, and onboarding information.
  • Customers must maintain rights to any content, images, software, domain names, trademarks, or data they ask Virtual Hosting Services to host or modify.
  • Customers must keep application logins, CMS accounts, and third-party service credentials secure and provide access only through reasonable onboarding channels.

Support And Managed Help

  • Support is provided by email. Urgent issues may be escalated through monitoring systems when available.
  • Virtual Hosting Services may refuse or quote separately for requests that are abusive, excessive, risky, unlawful, or outside normal hosting support scope.
  • Website migration assistance may require customer-provided access to the current host, registrar, CMS, DNS provider, or email system.

Availability And Backups

  • Virtual Hosting Services will use commercially reasonable efforts to keep services available, but no hosting service can guarantee uninterrupted service.
  • Backups, restores, and retention periods are subject to the package, platform, and technical availability. Customers should keep their own independent backups of critical data.
  • Scheduled maintenance, emergency security work, upstream provider issues, DNS propagation, registrar issues, and force majeure events may affect availability.

Suspension And Termination

  • Services may be suspended for non-payment, security risk, abuse, illegal content, policy violations, or activity that threatens platform stability.
  • Cancelled services may be removed after a reasonable retention period. Customers should request exports before cancellation whenever possible.
  • Refunds, if any, are handled case by case unless a separate written refund policy applies.

Limitation Of Liability

  • Services are provided as-is to the maximum extent allowed by law.
  • Virtual Hosting Services is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption.
  • Total liability for a claim is limited to the amount paid by the customer for the affected service during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
